Conservation Area

The UTRCA reminds everyone that waterways pose a serious safety hazard. River banks and shorelines are slippery, water temperatures are very cold, and any ice is unstable and thin. We encourage the public to exercise extreme caution around ditches, streams, and rivers, and stay off of frozen ponds and flood control reservoirs. Parents are encouraged to keep their children and pets away from all waterways

We encourage local residents to enjoy the trails and outdoor spaces at our Conservation Areas during daylight hours. Please be respectful of other users and keep the following in mind:

  • There are no washroom facilities available

  • If you are ill, stay home

  • Maintain physical distance

  • Do not gather in large groups

  • Park only in designated parking lots and ensure roads, gates, and exits are not blocked.

  • Keep pets on leash at all times, and always stoop and scoop to keep the parks healthy and clean

  • Put garbage in cans or take home with you

  • Take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints

  • We do not rent skis or snowshoes.

  • We do not monitor the depth of the ice.

  • Snowmobiles, ATV's or any other off road vehicles are prohibited in the campground, day use area, trails, on the ice or any other Conservation Area lands.

  •  If there is an emergency call 911
