The UTRCA reminds everyone that waterways pose a serious safety hazard. River banks and shorelines are slippery, water temperatures are very cold, and any ice is unstable and thin. We encourage the public to exercise extreme caution around ditches, streams, and rivers, and stay off of frozen ponds and flood control reservoirs. Parents are encouraged to keep their children and pets away from all waterways.
Wildwood Conservation Area is located on the traditional lands of the Attawandaron, Haudenosaunee, and Anishinaabe peoples. We recognize and honour the past, present, and future water and land stewardship of these First Nations. We strive to provide opportunities to nurture connections with the land, water, and each other so that all people will share in the responsibility to protect our natural resources.

All forms of smoking are prohibited in all public spaces within Wildwood Conservation Area. Smoking is only permitted on a registered campsite or in a designated area. Smoke free overnight sites have been designated for those who wish to camp without having anyone smoking on adjacent sites.
Please check the Visitors Guide maps for the designated areas and smoke free campsites. Staff continue to evaluate other smoke free initiatives.
